In the Apprenticeship for Child Development Specialist (ACDS) program a journeyperson is someone that has completed all four semesters of coursework, between 3200 and 4000 on the job training hours (OJT), and has received his or her Department of Labor (DOL) certificate. If you meet those requirements we ask that you complete our journeyperson application and return it to the ACDS office by mail, fax, or email.
Once we receive your completed application (form 19) and a copy of your DOL certificate we can update your status in our database as a journeyperson. At that time you will be eligible to attend our journeypersons seminars. These seminars are offered twice a year, generally in the fall and spring. These trainings are STARS registered and are at no cost to journeypersons. Journeypersons should receive information in the mail pertaining to the next seminar usually a month prior to the training date. All journeypersons must pre-register for the trainings due to limited space.
